Current ongoing volunteer opportunities:

Education & Outreach

• Women’s Health Workshop Leader
  • Talk to groups of women about breast, reproductive and oral health issues and provide information and resources for care.
  • Facilitate group discussion and be prepared to answer questions
  • Assist staff members during large workshops
  • Conduct workshops for small groups of women

• Health Fair and Outreach Representative
  • Attend health and community fairs, represent WRC at a booth or table and be prepared to answer questions about resources and services
  • Visit other nonprofit organizations and talk to their clients about the services that the WRC offers
• Appointment Buddy
  • Attend medical or dental appointments with clients who need a little extra support and encouragement

Events

• Event Committee
  • Work in conjunction with event coordinator and other committee members on WRC special events. WRC hosts events several times throughout the year
  • Help to make the event happen:
    • Procure in-kind donations
    • Assist in sponsor identification and recruitment
    • Determine event feel and theme
    • Other committee jobs include:  ticket sales, decorations, media/advertising, logistics
  • Be an ambassador for the event and help spread the word!
• Event Volunteer
  • Help during events with various activities such as:
    • Set up
    • Clean up
    • Helping with guest check in
    • Auction monitors
    • Special donation activities
• Help with other WRC projects such as:
  • National Women’s Health Week
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month
  • Participation in Komen and Avon walk activities

Administrative

• Education & Outreach Assistant
  • Make follow up calls for workshop hosts
  • Filing
• Dental Program Assistant
  • Filing
  • Pulling charts
  • Make client goodie bags
  • Make appointment follow-up calls
  • Other administrative duties as needed
• Dental Program Ambassador
  • Make thank you packets
  • Deliver thank you packets to dental clinics

Board of Directors

• Attend all monthly board meetings (4^th Tuesday of each month 6-8 p.m.)
• Be informed about the organization’s mission
• Serve on board committees
• Inform others about the organization
• Be an advocate for the Women’s Resource Center and the women we serve
• Make a personal financial commitment
• Attend WRC special events and activities
