About Us

The Women's Resource Center is dedicated to increasing access to health and dental care for low-income, un/underinsured women through outreach, education and connection to low-cost services. We are a community-based, grassroots organization that has been contributing to the well-being of women in Larimer County since 1975.

The mission of the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is to increase access to health and dental care for medically underserved women through outreach, education, connection to care, advocacy and patient navigation.  Our target population is women who have been identified by the Centers for Disease Control and the Colorado Cancer Plan as being at-risk for health problems due to financial and access barriers.  These barriers lead to significant health disparities, particularly among racial, ethnic and cultural minorities.

Our vision is that all women in Larimer County have:

1) An accurate understanding of women’s wellness
2) The ability to obtain affordable, quality health and dental care
3) The confidence and tools to take responsibility for their health issues and be an active participant in their own health

The Women’s Resource Center, formerly known as The Women’s Center of Larimer County, has served Larimer County women since 1975. Over this time the programs of the WRC have included issues of vital importance to low income women, such as employment assistance and day care. Today WRC expertise has evolved to emphasize empowering women to safeguard their health: access to affordable services, overcoming barriers to accessing care, coordination of care, and outreach to underserved or at-risk populations.
